Happy Mother’s Day

I wish to write something meaningful for today but my brain feels tired. It got stuck and I couldn’t think of any other thing other than joint pain and NSAIDs. But I would like to wish all the mothers, Happy Mother’s Day !

Apple can really keep doctor away.

My diarrhea has stopped after 4 or 5 days. I got diarrhea until lost count.

My friend suggested me to take light meal just to keep my body with suffiicient vitamins and minerals.
So I ate only 2 apples and 1 glass of honey+lemon juice for dinner. And diarrhea reduced and I’m feeling better now.

Did I lost some weight? My face looks smaller or maybe I’m having an illusion.

Let’s fight against child abuse.

I’m blogging this as part of BlogCatalog’s Blogging for a Great Cause Challenge.

Children they are the fruit grown from the seed of love that their parents planted. I always treasure these little ones because I know each and every one of them is very precious. But today, unfortunately the perception on the value of life has changed. During labor, doctor struggles hard to save both mother and child from dying. When the death have been overcome, we thought we all should celebrate it. But later in life, the child might receive different types of abuse from the adults.

There were several child murder cases since I was back from Russia. As an outsider, we often shake our heads and express our sympathy only when met with this kind of situation and then we return back to “mind our own business” attitude. If we care more for the little ones, we CAN prevent child abuse from happening. Action speaks louder than words! So stop pretending like you care and start sympathising everyone, instead why not try to do what you could do to help the children?

1) Call the police when you heard/saw your neighbour abusing his/her children.
2) When you see a lost child crying in the shopping complex, stay with the child until his/her parents came back to look for the child when they notice their child is missing or bring the child to the customer service counter to make an announcement to inform his/her parents. (I did this once in Jusco, Midvalley for a 5 yrs old malay boy separated from his parents.)
3) Parents, be more responsible and alert towards your child’s whereabout. Don’t let them go far away from your sight. Kidnappers can take any opportunity to take them away when you are not looking.
4) Always keep the gates at home locked and keep the keys somewhere beyond the reach of the young children so that they won’t simply run out the house without notifying you.
5) Teach children to scream for help and runaway when some suspected unknown strangers trying to approach them so that other adults could take notice and help them.
6) Never leave your child alone, unattended! Even if just going to the park, cycling, pasar malam (night market), always go along with them.
7) Hold the child tightly and keep him/her close to you when going to crowded places.

*All these are written based on my personal opinion, what I could do to protect those children. It might not be applicable for everyone. So do share your opinions with me. I am learning as well everyday to improve in protecting children from being hurt.

KSMU… i hate you.

Sometimes I feel tired with what I’m doing now to the point that I sometimes even lose faith in God. I’m not sure why I am here for. I used to be very confident, very determined with what I wanted to do. But once in a while, I feel confused because undeniable that I have a not so bright future. Fate of medical students studying in Russia, no one can tell us how. Being a successful specialist? A professor? What we saw in reality is just being a normal GP working with government hospital with a salary same like secondary school teacher. Sometimes I wonder why do I have to work so hard? 6 years of education leh, say short is not short. We wasted our youth, our time, our happiness, almost our everything. But in the end, is it worth it? No matter how hard we try, it’s worthless because we are in Russia. Even our government despises us.

Every winter, we walk out with fear. Fear of being killed by skinheads one day. I almost die in a fire in hostel on Deepavali night year 2005 but our stupid uni doesn’t care. Those guys that caused the fire, they are still there in Kursk. Life continues like normal for everyone, but no one consider what happened to the victims. We have stubborn, refuse to understand student situation kind of a group of vice-deans sitting happily in the air-cond room. Russians and their weird mentality… sometimes I think even dogs are better than them; at least dogs are more understanding and will always try to listen to what we wanna say. Our life in Russia is so harsh. I don’t feel like a student sometimes, I feel more like a fighter fighting for my life there. Those Russians they made us feel so depressed, so mad, so disappointed.

Everyone here does not understand why but everyone studying in kursk, have their own bitter story behind. The good students changed into some weirdos, fall sick or quit studying. The not so good students seem to be enjoying themselves a lot. Drinking and smoking recklessly without parental control. After all this is a place for you to get MD at the lowest price then make use of this MD to do something else.

Is there any better way for us to escape from this hell hole?
