Today was the 1st time I enter OT(operating theater not overtime!) this semester after 1 month i’m back to Kursk. The patient was a woman with a lot a lot of problem with her uterus. There are cysts, benign tumor, inflammation etc etc. So the best treatment for her is to remove the whole uterus with the ovaries. What you will see, will be 100% totally different from what you watch from Grey’s anatomy except for the knowledge of course. I’m sure what I learn here is sufficient enough to be a good doctor. (Hey, I could give the correct diagnosis when my roomate is sick! It’s just that I don’t know how to treat yet mah.)
Oh yea, a lot of people haven’t seen me in surgical scrub. Hehehe since ah jie today mood very good because finish 1 exam already, took a picture for you to see.

Lenglui or not? Cute ler? (Hehehehe *cough cough *perasan sendiri) Tell u a secret. Wanna know how I seduce attract my bf? Ngek ngek ngek the secret lies behind this surgical scrub and mask. He thinks my eyes look very seducing and sexy wor. So girls who desperately in need of a bf… wan me to lend u a help ma? I can lend u my scrub~
Guys usually fantasize about nurses, japanese girls which cosplay nurses. What about doctors ler? Why no one ever think about doctor? We got a lot of lenglui in medic school also wat. Not all of us got geeky looking wan ok? I shall find one day to post all the lenglui pic here.

Here is the washing room. Hehehe, wonder why it looks so different from Grey’s anatomy series ler? Yeala, u must remember russia was once a communist country. So now the rich are very rich, the poor are very poor. In other states except Moscow, will be underdeveloped and in poor condition. See… even all the sterilised things are put in some ciplak pasar malam kind of basin.

Entering the OT. Don’t be shock. Eeerhh… it’s just like that lor. Not as posh and beautiful and as high tech as those you saw from Grey’s anatomy. (SJMC’s OT was 100 times much better than this.) Now you know why I very scared to fall sick here lor because I don’t want to be treated here. Not the doctors problem but the condition of medical equipment here.

The guy on the left side is my teacher, Dr. Konoplya. Very eng tao oh I tell you! He’s tall. Skin is so smooth and fair… I want to touch his face so much! (Of course la, his lao po also very tall and lenglui and she’s a dermatologist ma, dat’s why take care of hubby skin until so nice lor) Hehehe… notice the way they dressed? Yea… they don’t have money to waste on new surgical coat each time. So they use these cloth recycle wan. After done operation, take out to wash then sterilised and wear again. And it repeats again and again until it turned yellow. EEEwwwwwhhhhh. (Reason No.2 why I dun wan to get sick here!)

Here, even the table for surgical instrument also covered but such cloth. Lol. See the cloth covering the patient’s body? Also use this kind of recycle cloth.

Oh look, look here! Remember all the IV bottles in hospital usually come in plastic bottles? In Russia, to save cost, it come in glass bottle so that they can go refill again after using it. Even the medicine in liquid form also put in such bottle. I was sick before. Had skin allergy, the doctor prescribe me some drug, went to the pharmacist, they gave me the liquid in such glass bottle… in the end I didn’t take that drug at all. (Reason no.3 why I refuse to get sick here!)

There’s a reason why I strongly recommend our government send us to space lor. See, even in OT they were trained to dressed up like astronaut! Lol. Also to save cost. They wrap from head to toe with the same recycle cloth.

This is a very very old ventilator. I think it’s about 50 years old or more? But it’s still working though. See, we don’t have those very cool equipment like those in grey’s anatomy. (Reason no.4 why I don’t want to be treated here >.<)

This is how we learn. Group all together inside the OT and watch and learn. The hospital is poor mah so don’t have another special room for you to view the operation in progress. Cincai one of us sneeze hor, can spread bacteria to the patient with where ever her body area are cut opened. Then will have septicemia and will have post-operative complication. There’s a sri lankan student here undergo an operation to remove kidney stones. And then the stones are successfully remove but later he got kidney failure because of post-operative infection! And now he need to do dialysis every week! (This is reason no.5 and the MAIN reason why I very scared to fall sick and to be treated here lor!)
You people in M’sia are so damn lucky, u know? Our medical facilities though not the best in the world but it is still better than those in Russia a zillion times. So count your blessing and thank God for letting you live in M’sia.
