Slow day.

Ok, I take back what I mentioned about Serdang GH A&E department. Sometimes I think it’s better to have a doctor to boss us around than doing nothing in the hospital. It’s so bored. The speed and the way those doctors do things there really pissed me off. Feel like kicking their arses. Hey, come on, accident patient came to the hospital was left there unattended for like 1 hour? After the MA brought them in, they just left him there and when chit chat with their ah moi nurses at one corner. My common sense tell me, they should take an X-ray, do blood test, clean his wound, bandage it and immobilize that fractured shoulder and send him to orthopedic department immediately. GGGggggrrrr… Geram la me.

There were a few elderly patients admitted into the department since 9am in the morning and at 5pm when I left the hospital, they are still lying there and nothing very useful was done to help them. Even the way the doctors walk also lengang-lengang, slow slow, taking their own sweet time makes me wanna vomit blood. People dying there and they still tidak apa.

Cis. I feel so geram bcos I can only stand at the side and watch the patient in pain. MA go borak borak, MO dunno hilang mana and medical students are not allow to handle patient. Boss pulak manyak semangat want to teach us ask us go hospital at 8am. =_= so wasting my time, I must get my drving license by next week!!!! I think tomolo I will ponteng kerja, go home early.

Singapore GH is the best hospital in Singapore but our GH are the worst in the country. That’s why if people can afford, they rather pay to better treatment in private hospital. There are some really nice doctors in private hospital that won’t charge you consultation fees and they will tell you to get drugs from pharmacy outside bcos private hospital tend to overcharge you. But of course it is better to stay healthy and not to be sick.

I have started my summer practical work today in Serdang GH. This hospital is so new, so cool, so updated with hi-tech stuff and the nice part is all the doctors there and nurses are very nice and friendly. You must know hor… there were few hospitals in our country famous for super “kwai lan, lan si” doctors around so if we dun get scolded/shouted/yelled at on the 1st day that is better than kena toto 4D I tell u!

Dr.Tatty

I’m so tired of the angry, bad temper, ego, ridiculous people around me. It’s time for me to get some touch of humanity. I feel quite happy to be in the hospital (not as a sick person of course!). When we were young, we always so eager to see the doctor when we were sick because we know that the pain always go away after a simple touch by the doctor’s hand.

I learn medicine because I want to understand about human’s pain and suffering and help them to take away that pain. It makes me feel very happy to see each frowning face that came into the hospital, goes home with a smiling face. And when patient say “Thank you, doctor” probably that is the nicest thing you ever heard in years…. when someone really truly appreciate you as a whole. I feel glad that I helped someone today.

Can’t wait when I’ll become a real doctor, when the time I can treat and take patients officially myself. The smile on the patient face when they recover, that expression is priceless.

“A doctor’s job is to cure sometimes, to relieve often and to comfort always.”

Truth

Here is the truth about truth. Truth always hurt that’s why we lie. Though it’s hurt but I still try to find the courage to lift my head up and smile. But really, if I could I would run to the nearest place and lock myself up in a dark room wondering where did it went wrong? And the worse one, it came from the person I trusted the most. I trust her and look at her on the beautiful side. I know no one is perfect so I try to overlook their imperfect part and still smile for them. And always, the same thing happens repeatedly over and over again. At this moment, I feel betrayed and disappointed. I wish I never knew. Ignorant is really a bliss.

Today I…

Every European country we go, we will take a short excursion out of the main city. Like in Amsterdam, we went to Koog-Zandjik to see the windmill, in Italy, we went to Lake Garda. Around Prague, there are many other small tourist attraction town. My neighbour went to a spa town and took a bath there. I went to Kutna Hora to visit the Bone Ossuary.

*From the train station look… it looks like a dead city…. i know i know -_-

Kutna Hora is the 2nd most important city after Prague in the Bohemian empire during the 13th century and it has the largest silver mine in Europe at that time and serve its purpose as the main city that produce silver coins for the whole Europe.

Watch out! This skull is so cute ^^. It’s on the path leading to the church.

Sedlec Kostnice_1.JPG

This is the Sedlec Kostnice / Bone ossuary / Church of Bones / Bone museum / etc.

The ossuary contains approximately 40,000-70,000 human skeletons which have been used to decorate the chapel. The Black Death in the mid of 14th century took away more than 30 000 lives in Kutna Hora and then followed by the Hussite War in the early 15th century which claimed more lives. Cemetery had to be enlarged and they need more burial space. But later one a church was build in the middle of the cemetery and many graves unearthed during the construction. The lower part of the church were made into an ossuary to keep the unearthed skeletons.

They said the job of stacking and piling up the bones was given to a half-blind monk. But his kerja must be very teruk that’s why later in 1870, FrantiĊĦek Rint a woodcarver was given the task to rearrange the bones and put it in order and the result is what we see today.

A lot of people think this place is creepy but my feeling is just like Sunako Nakahara (go watch Perfect girl evolution
aka yamato nadeshiko sichenge
). Hey there’s the femur bone and that’s the tibia. The corner of this chapel is occupied by 4 enormous bell-shaped pile of bones which mainly consist of the skull, the femur and tibia. =D. They used the humerus bone as decorations hanging on the wall, like the previous photo above.

This is the middle part of the chapel.

The word IN’RI above Jesus means Iesvs Nazarenvs, Rex Ivdaeorvm - Jesus from Nazareth, King of the jews.

kostnice_7.JPG

The Schwarzenberg coat-of-arms. I think this is a beautiful piece of art made from skeletons. I’m impressed by the way the bones were arranged. There you see the jaw bone, rib, vertebrae… ekekeke.

kostnice_8.JPG

The chandelier of bones. It contains at least one of every bone in the human body. This chandelier is very beautiful lor… how i wish I can keep one at home…. but then probably at night I will have a lot of visitors as well.
