Friday tag.

Oooo it’s Friday. I got tagged by ParisB 2 weeks ago. Supposed to do this tag on Friday but I missed 2 fridays due to my laziness. Hohoho. Felt so tired these days, I wonder why. Maybe the weather too hot? I slept at 1pm right after I came back from class yesterday and then I woke up at almot 7pm!!! Then went to sleep at 12 midnite, woke up at 8am today. Total of 14 hours of sleep. I almost late for class today because the hospital is so so so damn far away and I need around 45 mins to reach there because class starts at 9am.

1. To watch or participate?
To Watch.
Depends on what occasion. But I think most likely I’ll just watch quietly from the side and when necessary I’ll participate. You can’t blindly just jump in any situation right? If you join in at inappropriate time, people will say you kepoh. If you are lucky, at the right time, you might save someone life.
My teacher said once that wise man always watch quietly. Only the fools will participate and make hell a lot of noise. =P So i want to be the wise man.

2. Malls, catalog shopping, or the Internet?
Can I choose all?
1st go internet check out new model and price list.
2nd double check on catalog for prices and see where can get.
3rd go shopping mall. Get ur hands on. Touch, see and try. Deal with the sales person directly can bargain ma!
Yealer… poor ppl buy things always must budget. Cash is limited, can only buy few items so I gotta choose the best and worth the price. ^^

3. A bath or shower?
Shower. It feels nice to stand under the running water… especially with someone hugging you…. beep beep beep *censored*. I love water and I feel very excited when it rains. I remember last time when I was small, I used to play under the rain after tuition…. dat’s also if my mum dun kejar me with rotan when I cpme home wet la.

4. To talk to people by telephone, in person or by e-mail?
In person. You know someone better and feel closer to them when talking to them in person because you can’t see the expression on the person face if you talk via email. Not sure if she’s happy or sad at that moment. Does she needs comfort or does she needs you to cheer her up? Some of my friendship started from an email and then msn, and then exchanging hp number and then we meet up in person. It takes effort if you really want to know someone and be a friend.

5. Typing or writing?
Type when need to blog. I can’t submit my handwritten blogpost online hor?
Write when I study because I prefer to read words different in colors and size. If not, lecture notes would be too boring to read.

Since it’s weekend and recently there are people who got idea what to blog so I wanna tag:
Pookyma
David
Yung - dat is so so free now
Hao
Jian

Sekian terima kasih. have a great weekend!

Do you need the vaccine for cervical cancer?

Everyone is paranoid when they hear the word cancer. Regardless what kind of cancer it is, when someone heard there is a vaccine for cancer, they all want it. This including my mum. Last year, a new HPV vaccine was developed that is effective against cervical cancer. She drags all of us to her O&G doctor to get vaccinated but of course her gynaecologist told us it is not necessary for us to be vaccinated. (Yea, me and my sis are good girls ok?). Before getting this vaccine, we should learn more about cervical cancer.

What is cervical cancer/ carcinoma of the cervix?
Cervical cancer is malignant tumor in the cervix (structure between vagina and the uterus).
The peak of incidence occur between the age 20-30.
Worldwide, about 500,000 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed each year, resulting in 250,000 deaths.
We should understand that Cervical cancer is not cause by hereditary.

Nearly all cases of cervical cancer is caused by Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. When someone got infected, this virus causes a short period of symptoms and then it disappears without any treatment. This virus persist in the cervix epithelium for years and gradually changes the genetic apparatus of the cells and then leads to excessive proliferation of infected cells and formation of intraepithelial neoplasia.

Who is affected?
HPV infection is a sexually transmitted disease. It usually infects any young people (age 16-30) that are sexually active with multiple partners. The incidence is highest in developing country such as India, Thailand; where prostitution of young girls is very high. The ratio of cervical cancer to breast cancer in these countries is 3 : 1.

People at risk of acquiring this infection are people who:
- started sexual life at a very young age (<17 yrs old)
- has multiple sexual partners
- had unprotected sex without condoms
- has husband/partner who previously has a wife died because of cervical cancer (yes, this virus love glans penis, it lives and multiplies there and this infected penis will be the carrier of this HPV infection)
- has medical history of STD

*Gays can also be infected with HPV but since the location of poking will be different, they will get anal cancer.

Smoking increases the rate of malignisation of cells. Don’t think that holding a cigarrette, naked in bed with some cute guy is cool. It can kill you. (I think nowadays people watch too much drama series. tsk tsk, this is bad, very bad.)

The incidence of cervical cancer is almost none in virgins.

Who needs the vaccine?
This vaccine is recommended to female age 13 - 26 years old. The younger the better, before she start having sex. The vaccine will activate immune system against HPV before she is expose to the virus. (If you plan to engage in a lot a lot of sex act with many guys in future, I think it is better to be vaccinated.)

The vaccine is given as a series of three injections over a six-month period. The second dose is given two months after the first dose, followed four months later by the third dose.

Women that are already sexually active, this vaccine will still be effective, it reduces the risk of transformation of cervical epithelium into cancerous cells.

*boys age 9-15 yrs old can be vaccinated as well if you suspect he has tendency to be homosexual to prevent anal cancer.

Are you in the risk group? Then you will need the vaccine for sure. On the other hand, other girls (virgin/non-virgin) can consider taking this vaccine as a prophylaxis.

********************************************************************
Some unrelated facts. I was talking to my groupmates the other day about this issue. They mentioned about this:

You know how conservative is Malaysian thinking. Uneducated people will think; if girl go and take this vaccine, it means that she surrender herself telling the whole world that she is a slut that sleeps around with guys. So in the end, she might just swallow down her throat the thinking to be vaccinated to save her dignity. Educated people will think it’s for their health and they must do it to protect their lives.

There are so many enjoyable and beautiful things in life, do you really want to take the risk and die so early? Go get vaccinated if you think you need it. Life can only live once. Prolong it and enjoy to the fullest and die with no regrets.

Why so vulgar wan?

I realised everyone have been very vulgar these days. Greetings in the begining of day is not “good morning, my dear. Did you had a good sleep last night?” anymore. Instead, every morning went I go to the hospital I would hear my friend say “Mahai, I forgotten to bring my surgical clothes” or “cheebye, that fella didn’t return me my books” and etc.

And even nicknames for friends become very vulgar.
They call mariam SCH and call me CCB and other girls some other names. =_=’
Is our dictionary seriously lack of words these days?

When I went back Malaysia for holiday, I was so shocked to hear children spoke in a very rude manner and cursing other people. If those are my kids I think I will go jump out from my window. What happen to good manners that supposedly taught by parents and teacher in school? Last time if my mum hear me curse or show middle finger, I will sure kena rotan lor.

Amsterdam is famous for these colorful clogs. Don't forget to bring one home. I think it looks nicer than the penis-shaped salt and pepper bottle as souvenir. ;-P Lol.
