Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE) is an autoimmune disease in which organs, tissue, and cells undergo damage mediated by tissue binding antibodies and immune complexes. 90% of the patients are women of child bearing years (age 15-40) but both genders are susceptible to SLE.

The typical clinical presentation of SLE is malar rash, also known as the butterfly rash on the cheek of the patient like the shape of a butterfly. So far there is no cure for SLE. Drugs are prescribed to control and suppress the symptoms and prevent organ damage. Most of the patient die because of lupus nephritis which will lead to acute renal failure.

World Lupus Day, on the 10th of May is a global awareness effort and Shutter Asia in conjunction with Persatuan SLE Malaysia will be organising a charity initiative to raise funds.

A photography contest will be held with the theme of “Anything Butterfly”. You can submit any picture related to the theme. Use your imagination and creativity ;-). A lot of interesting prizes await you for the best photo.

Girls love Barbie dolls. And these days… doll are getting bigger in size. When you see girls playing with dolls is something natural. I myself also own a few Barbie dolls. But what if guys play with dolls? And you know, I know… when guys play with dolls it means something else.

When I ask my friend what souvenir he wants me to get from UK, he jokingly told me to get a mannequin made according to real human size and feature. But I never really thought that such dolls do really exist except from japanese anime. Then I google search lor. This is what I found at www.realdoll.com.

But the question is, why would anyone get this doll? She can’t talk, she can’t hug and comfort you, she can’t cook or do your laundry. You know… I’ve been eating a lot lately. Everyday also got someone celebrate birthday. And because Kursk is so kampung… and the way russians celebrate birthday is like… errrh… probably it’s the worst birthday celebration in the world. Russian guys will buy super big and ugly looking purple ape for his gf and his gf like so eksyen hugging it to every places she goes to: class, lectures, cafeteria, toilet and she thinks other girls will feel jealous of her. But seriously dunno why they sell such ugly dolls here in russia. When I got time, I go snap some pictures in toy store to show you.

So we got no where to go, no nice place to celebrate and no nice presents to buy. All we do is to invest everything in food and cook ourselves. See medic students are not that nerd ok? You can say we “yap tuck chui fong, chut tuck teng tong” (capable to work in the kitchen and go outside work).

Char Siew still the best la. If got siew yuk even better.

Fried sotong. (Sotong here have really weird consistency, it taste like rubber.)

Steamed Fish. You know got people say don’t buy fish in russia because all the fishes here are contaminated by radiation. I wonder if it is true…. bcos maybe I eat too much and it adds up to cause cancer?

Baked potatoes with cheese.

Mixed vegetables. These days fresh vegetables become very expensive, for a small bundle of spinach dat can barely fill in 1/3 of my stomach cost about rm5. So nowadays we have to resort to frozen vegetables. I think next semester, I have to bring my own seeds n plant my own sawi in the room.

Curry Chicken. The Ng’s family secret recipe. It taste very very nice… someday I go get their recipe and share it here.

So full la. Tummy become bloated and hard liao. So difficult to breath also. But then… we haven’t cut the birthday cake.

Arthur - most stubborn fella. When everyone else want ponteng class hor, he si si insist want to go. In the end, we all had to go because if 1 student turn up, the rest will need to do extra class for missed lesson. It’s always All or None Law we practice in russia.
Lucas - most desperate virgin boy. He’s desperate to lose his virginity but he still couldn’t get a gf. Anyone interested in him? He’s from Sarikei. Sarikei ppl very rich oh.

Bobby - fastest weight reduction in the group. Yealar, yealar… lihai lar, lose so much weight liao now go around picit other people’s love handle. *tomolo I must ikat perut liao bcos he keeps pinching my tummy.
HooiLian - most macho guy with long hair. =D She’s stronger than all the guys in the group ler.
HongWeng - best paparazzi of the year. Be careful when you see him. He’s quiet, he’s always with a camera and he always caught you in action, involve in some scandal.
Sharon - lazing queen. She lies down on her bed almost 24 hr a day or at least when I went to her room to look for her, she’s always lying down on her bed watching anime.

Sei lor… eat so much, sure gain weight again wan. From today onwards must stop eating cakes and start doing situps for 2 weeks. But…. being able to eat and taste food, it’s simply the nicest thing that God gave us. Appreciate it and enjoy life with good food. You can save on anything but don’t save on food!

7 months and 20 days have passed, hairs have grown out from the area where the hairs lost due to radiotherapy. The new hairs look funny though. I wonder why is it so curly.

Everytime I look in the mirror, I can’t stop laughing at this tiny bush of curly hair. I wonder if it is radiotherapy effect as well.

My skin is still hyperpigmented around the wound. I think I can’t cut my hair yet in thin coming summer holiday because I can’t expose this part of the skin to UV light.

Sometimes, my wound feels very itchy to the extend that I couldn’t sleep at all at night. I guess the healing process is taking place beneath the skin layers. But it is taking so long to heal. And when it itches, the sensation on my skin feel not right. No matter how hard I scratch, I couldn’t ease the itchiness. Somehow it feels like I’m scratching on one part, the itchiness come from another part though I feel it right there on that spot. Did my sensory nerve fibers got messed up? Hmmmm……

I feel very tired though. Sleep was never enough for me. Oh… because I sleep a lot, I actually gained weight! Haha… now weighing 47kg lor. I better stop growing sideways or else can’t fit into my jeans anymore. April is a happening month. So many people birthday fall in the month of April. And I partly gain weight because I ate too much cakes! =P Have been eating cakes everyday lor in this week. Tomolo got another 2 more cakes to cut ler. Cheesecakes, banana cake, chocolate cakes……… so yummy! but fattening!

Today is Qijie’s birthday, tomolo is his sister’s but the age gap between them is 1 year. Their father very keng hor? Count the date properly and give birth to his kids on almost the same day but different year. Do you know that after delivery, a woman uterus can only restore its function after 3 months? And full term of pregnancy takes 9 months. 9+3= 12 months/1 yr. It means his dad, straight away go into action right after his mum recover from previous childbirth and one shot kena lottery lor. So accurate summore. I wonder that year if they got kena 4D first prize.
