After 5 continuous long years that I spent in Russia… this is my 1st time celebrating CNY at home since I left for studies. I almost forgotten how to celebrate, how it feels and not too sure what to shop.

Why?
5 years is a long time and a lot of things has changed. For example, even the “kat chai” (limau) became so HUGE, almost the size of a palm.

1 bijik of this is enough to make 20 ice popsicles.
Waaaaaaaahhhhhh…..

compared to our original kat chai… so small…
Mamak stall can save money if they use the big limau. Instead of making 2 limau for 1 glass of air limau, they can make 5 glasses. =D Save cost, earn more.

And year by year…. i didn’t know that ang pow (red packets) has evolved into multiform and multicolours! I sounds so jakun when I saw these cute mini doraemon angpows. The auntie selling this must be wondering where did this sakai came from.

So cute! so cute! Anyone giving me angpow like this or not? =D

And suddenly Mickey and his gf became the official 12.5th zodiac animals. The year 2008 is RAT year…. why did it turned out to be Mickey instead? Almost all cny decorations came with Mickey and Minnie pictures on it.

But it’s cute though. =D I want to collect the whole set!

I love this the most.
Do you think people will angpow on Valentine’s day? This packet is so sweet….

Not only the limau and angpow has changed, even the plants are “bling-bling-fied”.

=D Why does it looks almost like a chinese version of Christmas tree… but minus the presents beneath it.

Forget about the pussy willows, nowadays people prefer real thing. They also brought real plum blossom plant from China.

If you notice the big plum blossom tree in sunway pyramid 2, that is a real tree with real flowers. It looks so beautiful but at the wrong location lol. Or else it will be very romantic to paktor under that tree.
