Inflation in Russia! Ish….

I went to do my groceries shopping yesterday and I realized that during the 4 months I’ve been missing, nothing changed here except for the PRICE of everything! (And oh, they upgraded their airport) Example like below

Cooking oil – yr 2003 : 32 roubles,
yr 2004 : 35 roubles,
yr 2005 : 38 roubles,
yr 2006 : 44.90 roubles,
Today : 55 roubles

Conversion rate, RM to roubles, 1 : 8 (yr 2003)
1 : 7.5 (yr 2005)
1 : 7.2 (yr 2007)

*All the new rates take over every end of summer. And then soon I’ll be starving myself to death here (bcos too kiamsap to spend on food). The internet here in Kursk are bought by bytes. I spent rm200 every month for 500 megabytes, u know. You lucky fella back in Malaysia got streamyx can download anime, drama, porn anytime lu suka. Here we gotta save, save, save! And internet bytes are not enough! Sorry bloggers, I’ll just pop in to write something and post it up, blog hopping activities will be slow down bcos now I left only 140 Mb for the rest of the month! Not worth to spend another rm200 on the stupid internet rite?

5 years ago, when you say studying in Russia is cheap, it is dirt cheap! RM170k for a MD, the cheapest you can get. Now I think it’s even more expensive than studying in IMU or Australia. I guess it is really cheap for those students with the “special privilege” because they are sponsored by the government. I heard JPA students get 800usd per month in Moscow ( this is bcos, Moscow is now ranked No.1 the most expensive city in the world and thus the student’s allowance are increased as well ) and every winter hor, they sure damn enjoying themselves visiting all the expensive cities in Europe, particularly in Italy. And do drop by their room as well for they will be having the most keng Hi-fi and Plasma screen TV in the hostel, the surround sound system is better than TGV, I tell u!

*sigh…. I’m so broke now….
