Friend sent me this link all the way from Russia. Have you seen this yet? I wonder what will become of our country in a few more years. Why did our minister give such a “funny” answer to Sarah Montague’s question? Probably he was too “high” after consuming teh tarik tongkat ali.

BBC HARD TALK with Malaysian foreign affairs Minister(1)

BBC HARD TALK with Malaysian foreign affairs Minister(2)

I love my country but sometimes we weren’t given a choice in certain things. If I was given a chance, of course I wouldn’t want to study in Kursk, Russia and suffer such a miserable life there and after we graduated next time, our future is so dark that we couldn’t catch even a glimpse of light shinning through. We all once have big dreams when we were young but living here every dream seems impossible especially in medic field. It’s difficult because every opportunity is taken away, every path is blocked. So in the end the girl who dream big resort to marry off with some ang moh and live happily ever after with 3 kids in the USA or UK or Australia… anywhere but here… and sometimes bring the kids back to visit grandma and grandpa. Sigh… will this be the fate of a compassionate doctor?

Too bad for us since a lot of professional not working in Malaysia since the pay rate is low and the environment isn’t as good as foreign country would provide..

But I do see hope in Malaysia as more steps had been taken to improve and mend the situation..

For example to attract professionals that went oversea to work back to Malaysia, they provide tax exemption for their foreign source income…

Hopefully many more will come..

I think will be difficult la bcos wat we earn in malaysia is merely enough to survive. you know a doctor’s pay is equal to a secondary school teacher pay rm3000. but then as a teacher, they have shorter years of studies, more holidays, shorter working hour, can give tuition to earn extra money, buy house buy car got discount…. sigh… sometimes it’s like not worth our time putting so much effort in the thing we do. Not that i’m materialistic or something but I have to think about my children next time. My parents sent us for swimming lesson, tuition, piano etc etc, each child also need rm5000 at least. What can I give my children in future if I earn so little?

this is so goddamn ridiculous its amazing. he hasn’t even addressed any of hte questions she had asked properly. he just kept making up excuses for his bloody short comings. its remarkable we have such a ‘intelligent’ individual to address our foreign affairs. he isn’t even looking at it objectively. if all the other ‘less important’ races got up and left. Malaysia would be sent back to the bloody stone ages.
